AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner

My first objective is to pass the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam. I have been researching AWS and can see that going forward, its going to be a great Skill to have. 

The CCP course / Exam is a foundational exam and looks to give you the basic insight into Cloud. What it does, whats it for and why we should use it. Last year I obtained the Microsoft Azure Fundamentals certification (Mainly as it was a free course and free exam) but it will still an interesting subject. This has peaked my interest in Cloud hence why I am interested in obtaining the AWS CCP. 

I have used a couple of sources for Study. One is the Stephen Markek AWS CCP course on Udemy which I found really useful, and the second is ACloudGuru which I love. 

I have also downloaded the AWS White-paper - Overview of Amazon Web Services (About 76 Pages) as well as the AWS White-paper How AWS Pricing Works. I have a hardcopy of the Exam BluePrint as well as a Notepad of written notes for reference. 

As far as practice tests go, Ive been using the ACG Test's which from what I understand are harder than the actual CCP Exam. I am averaging 75 to 80% on these tests. Once I am hitting 90% and I can explain why X is wrong, I will feel a lot more confident and will book a remote exam. Its the 15th of December today, Id like to have this done within the next week or so.

PCEP – Certified Entry-Level Python Programmer Certification

After a nice Christmas break, I am starting on the PCEP – Certified Entry-Level Python Programmer Certification to improve my Python skillset.  I started out using A Cloud Guru as they served me so well on the AWS CCP, however, I feel really let down by their PECP Course. As a Python beginner, the course moves along VERY quickly so you do not always get an understanding of the fundamentals. I also have a couple of questions for ACG which havent been answered.  Is the material still relevant to the certification? The material seems to be from Linux Academy so should I be looking at this or a more up to date course,  The Tutor has you setup on a remote server which is part of the ACG 'PlayGround'. This was working fine until about step 5 and after that, it just failed to work. I spent 2 or 3 hours trying to get it to work but to no avail. August 2022

In March , I had planned to have my Linux Essentials, Python PCAP and maybe a new AWS. Sadly that still hasn't happened. Life gets in the way and with the numerous changes at work, I havent had the chance to even pick up a book let alone start revision.  Its now August and I am just getting round to start my Linux+ XK0-004. I had planned on having a new AWS Certification, as well as my Python PCAP and possibly PCEP but with the way work has been its just not happened.  The Company has a corporate O'Reily books account so I am using the CompTIA Linux+ All In One Certification guide as well as a number of VM's to really get hands on.  I did get a promotion from Desktop Support II to Systems Engineer l hope to get some more Linux Experience in a corporate environment. My next post should hopefully be about passing the CompTIA Linux+!
